Greenwash?
Who better to greenwash cars than KaleCoAuto?
Back in the early 2000s, everyone was buzzing about hybrids, emissions, and saving the planet. KaleCoAuto, naturally, wanted to ride that smug wave without actually doing any of the hard work of designing a hybrid or giving up our beloved gas‑guzzling SUVs and fuel-sucking muscle cars.
Our solution was simple, elegant, and entirely misguided: we invented Greenwash. > Click here to view the archived product <
Billed as the miracle additive that could make even the most unapologetically thirsty V8 sound like it cared about baby polar bears, spotted owls, and horned dolphins. Greenwash was our bold step into the green movement. We promised better fuel economy, near‑zero emissions, and even a fresh lemon or pine scent (your choice!) from your tailpipe. And for a brief, shining moment, it actually looked like we had cracked the code
We Put our Chemists to Work
Only two of them owned Winnebagos.

To our great surprise, creating Greenwash was easier than we thought it would be. A few late nights, some questionable lab notes, and the kind of blind optimism only KaleCoAuto can muster, and suddenly we had a liquid miracle on our hands. Cars that normally struggled to crack double‑digit miles per gallon suddenly doubled their mileage. Exhaust emissions? Nonexistent. In fact, the only thing dribbling out of the tailpipe was water so amazing it doubled as shockingly good fertilizer.
Of course, this being KaleCoAuto, accidents happened. One engineer mistakenly drank a sample, and instead of ending up in the ER, he found it worked beautifully as a cleansing juice additive. Without going into detail, let’s just say the bathroom was actually cleaner after he used it.
Field tests on vehicles and humans alike all came back glowing. Things, for once, were actually looking up.
Where it all Went Wrong
Even 20 years later, we still struggle to understand.

We were all set for launch when the black SUVs arrived. A fleet of them, silent as a funeral procession. Men in identical suits filed out, walked into our office without a word, gathered every vial, barrel, and bottle of Greenwash, shredded our records, and left. Just like that, the project was over. Nobody on the team felt like touching it again. Partly from fear, partly from the eerie sense that someone, somewhere, had been expecting this.
For twenty years, Greenwash existed only as a half‑remembered legend told at company barbecues. Then, not long ago, the formula resurfaced, scrawled on the back of a hamburger wrapper in the desk of a retired chemist. We were ready to finally share it with the world.
And I’d be happy to give you the recipe here, except, excuse me, but it sounds like something just broke a window in the back of the shop. I’ll come back and post the formula after I investigate.
